Nickel-based alloys
Nickel-based alloys have a nickel percentage of more than 50%. Because of this, they are highly resistant to chemical substances at high temperatures, and more resistant to corrosion.
Nickel is a component that is found in many steels, which, among other things, is characterised because it:
- Decreases heat conductivity
- Reinforces stress resistance
- Improves resilience and ductility
- Increases electrical resistance
- Increases overall resistance to corrosion in non-oxidant fluids and to cavitation
This type of alloys are used in extreme conditions, for industrial use and other fields such as the naval and maritime industry, etc.
